More than a third of the world's food crops rely on pollination by insects and other animals. Across the country and in our own backyards, native bee populations are dropping. This program asks schools, churches, government organizations and businesses to let a portion of their property grow wild and unmowed or to plant a garden bed with pollinator-friendly plants. Participants outside of Vermont are asked for a $20 donation.

Apply now online for funding to attend a conference session dedicated to “Issues in Environmental and Climate Education” in Columbia on Friday, April 1, and/or to join fellow teachers and geologists on a related theme field trip to Congaree National Park, the following day.

Back by popular demand, the World of 7 Billion student video contest can help you bring technology and creativity into your high school science and environmental education classes.

What's in your glass of water? Is it just hydrogen and oxygen atoms? Is it safe to drink? All water is of a certain "quality" (and you can't tell by just looking), but what does "water quality" really mean? Water full of dirt and grime might work fine for a tomato plant, but would you want to drink it? Explore these issues and more with your students during National Water Quality Month.

Check out upcoming and archived webinar series for environmental educators. Topics include school recycling programs, teaching outdoors, farm-to-school programs, and more!

Get out of the classroom and learn about cutting edge research and conservation efforts, develop professional skills and make a difference for the environment. A diverse selection of travel and learning opportunities for educators – both within the U.S. and abroad – is currently available.
